A new dining destination has arrived at First on 7th, bringing the rich flavors, traditions and hospitality of Mexico to the heart of downtown Fort Worth. Almacén El Gallo, located on the ground floor of the landmark mid-century modern tower at 500 West 7th Street, offers a contemporary approach to regional Mexican cuisine inspired by the neighborhood gathering places of generations past.

Opened in July 2026, Almacén El Gallo is the latest addition to the evolving street-level experience at First on 7th, joining established dining destinations 61 Osteria and Buon Giorno Coffeehouse. The restaurant further enhances the building's appeal as a destination where downtown professionals, residents and visitors can gather throughout the day and into the evening.

Founded by restaurateurs Adrian Burciaga and Martin Quirarte and operated by Burciaga Hospitality Group, Almacén El Gallo draws its inspiration from the traditional fondas and cantinas of Mexico. These neighborhood establishments have long served as gathering places where families, friends and neighbors come together to enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals and meaningful conversation.

The concept reflects the founders' personal connections to Mexican culture and their appreciation for the role food plays in bringing people together. Almacén El Gallo seeks to recreate that sense of familiarity and belonging while introducing guests to a diverse collection of regional dishes and culinary traditions.

Central to the restaurant's culinary identity is acclaimed Mexican chef Rodrigo Rivera Río, co-founder of KOLI Cocina de Origen in Monterrey, Mexico. Under his leadership, KOLI earned Michelin stars in both 2024 and 2025, establishing Rivera Río as a leading voice in contemporary Mexican cuisine.

For Almacén El Gallo, Rivera Río has developed a menu that celebrates the ingredients, cooking methods and regional specialties found throughout Mexico. Guests can explore dishes inspired by traditional grilled meats, barbacoa, moles, adobos, stews and broths, each reflecting the restaurant's emphasis on authentic flavors and carefully considered preparation.

Rather than reinventing Mexican cooking, the restaurant embraces techniques and recipes that have been passed down through generations, presenting them with a contemporary sensibility. The result is a dining experience that feels both distinctive and familiar, offering an inviting option for business lunches, relaxed dinners and special occasions.

The restaurant's interior is equally thoughtful. Led by Mexican architect Carlos Núñez of CN Architects, the design combines contemporary elements with materials, colors and craftsmanship influenced by Mexico's architectural heritage. The inviting space complements the clean geometric lines and modernist character of First on 7th, creating an interesting dialogue between the building's architectural history and the restaurant's cultural identity.

Almacén El Gallo also offers private dining and special-event opportunities, including a private dining room accommodating up to 30 guests. The space is suited for corporate gatherings, celebrations, wine dinners and other occasions, adding another hospitality amenity for tenants of First on 7th and the surrounding downtown business community.

With the addition of Almacén El Gallo, First on 7th continues to strengthen its position as a destination that connects business, dining, architecture and culture in downtown Fort Worth. Alongside 61 Osteria and Buon Giorno Coffeehouse, the new restaurant offers tenants and visitors another compelling reason to experience the building and the surrounding neighborhood.
